This section describes phone behavior and start up screens you may see when the phone is first plugged in, or when it is restarted. Plugging in and Starting the Phone The 6940 automatically begins the start up sequence as soon as it is connected.

This may take a few moments while the phone downloads the latest updates. : New updates to your phone can be automatically scheduled from the server. This is set up on the NOTE phone system by your System Administrator and should be scheduled during non-business hours or slow call periods.

Network Connected/Network Disconnected If your phone successfully connects to the network the phone will go directly to the Homescreen. If your phone did not successfully connect to the network, the Network Disconnected prompt appears on the display and the telephone status light turns on.

When you set the language to use, all of the display screens (menus, services, options, configuration parameters, etc.) display in that language.

To do this, simply remain on the line until the receiving party answers the call. After consulting with the receiving party, you can either complete the transfer or cancel the transfer to go back to the orig- inal call.
