The switches and LEDs located on the control panel are described below. See Chapter 4 for
details on the control panel connections.

Control Panel Features
Description
The main power switch is used to apply or remove power from the power supply
to the server. Turning off system power with this button removes the main power
but maintains standby power. To perform many maintenance tasks, you must
unplug system before servicing.
This indicates power is being supplied to the system power supply units. This
LED is illuminated when the system is operating normally.
This button performs two functions. Press it briefly to toggle the universal
identifier (UID) LED alert light.
Indicates network activity when flashing.
When flashing, this LED indicates activity on the storage devices controlled by
the on-chip SATA controller.
Information LED
Description
An overheat condition has occurred.(This may be caused by cable congestion.)
Fan failure, check for an inoperative fan.
UID LED
Description
UID has been activated locally to locate the server in a rack environment.
UID has been activated using IPMI to locate the server in a rack environment.
