13 Adjustment < P1 JUSTAGE >
As the acceleration value due to gravity is not the same at every location on earth,
each balance must be coordinated - in compliance with the underlying physical
weighing principle - to the existing acceleration due to gravity at its place of location
(only if the balance has not already been adjusted to the location in the factory). This
adjustment process must be carried out for the first commissioning, after each
change of location as well as in case of fluctuating environment temperature. To
receive accurate measuring values it is also recommended to adjust the balance
periodically in weighing operation.
Possible adjustments include:
• Automatic adjustment using internal weight (models AEJ, PLJ)
time and temperature controlled, see chap. 13.1.
• Manual internal adjustment (models AEJ, PLJ)
To activate, press the CAL-key, see chap. 13.2.1.
• Adjustment using external weight (model AES), see chap. 13.2.2.
Observe stable environmental conditions. A warming up time (see chapter
1) is required for stabilization.
Internal adjustment can only be carried out when the weighing pan is free
of objects. If the weighing pan is loaded, the error message <Range
exceeded> will appear.
You can cancel the adjustment by pressing the TARE-key.
Carry out external adjustment as near as possible to the balance's
maximum weight (recommended adjustment weight see chap. 1). Weights
of different nominal values (>30% max) may be used for adjustment but
are not optimal for technical
