- Always keep the device clean. To clean it, use a brush or cloth but no
cleaning agents or acidic solutions. Do not use water to clean the
engine as it may clog the fuel system.
- To clean the blade guard, it is possible to connect a hose to
the top of the housing.
- After mowing, remove the remains of
plants stuck with a piece of wood or plastic. Clean all ventilation
openings, expulsion and the area around the blades. Do not use
hard or sharp objects, you could damage the device.
- Occasionally lubricate the wheels.
- Check before each use that the mower does not show visible
damage such as loose, worn or damaged parts. Check that all nuts,
bolts and screws are tight.
- Check that the covers and safety systems are undamaged and in
place. Exchange them if necessary.
b. Air filter
Never use the device without an air filter. Dust and dirt enter the
motor and damage the machine. Keep the air filter clean.
- Unscrew air filter cover and fold it down.
- Remove the air filter.
- Exchange the air filter for a new one (see "Spare Parts").
- For installation place the new air filter in the air filter cover
- Close the air filter cover and secure it by pressing firmly.
c. Spark plug
Worn spark plugs or an excessive ignition interval lead to a decrease in
engine performance.
- Remove the spark plug by pulling and rotating the spark plug at the
same time.
- Screw the spark plug counter clockwise with the spark plug wrench
provided with the appliance.
- Check the ignition interval using a template (available in the
specialized trade). The electrode gap should be 0.75 mm.
- Adjust the gap as necessary by carefully bending the spark plug
ground electrode.
- Clean the candle with a wire brush.
- Replace the cleaned and adjusted spark plugs or replace the
