instructions.
The butterfl y valve may only be used in

potentially explosive zones confi rmed
in the declaration of conformity (ATEX).
 The GEMÜ 490 butterfl y valve is
designed for installation in piping
systems. It controls a fl owing medium
after a manual operator (GEMÜ 497),
pneumatic operator (GEMÜ 491) or
motorized operator (GEMÜ 498) has
been mounted.
 The butterfl y valve may only be used
providing the product technical
criteria are complied with (see
chapter 5 "Technical data").
 Do not paint the bolts and plastic parts of
the butterfl y valve!
