TROUBLESHOOTING
The fuel pump fails to operate.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Left side cover
2. Rider seat
3. Fuel tank
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, ignition and fuel injection
system)

2. Check the battery.

3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE

4. Check the engine stop switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE

5. Check the relay unit (fuel pump re-
lay).
Refer to "CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS" on page 7-159.

6. Check the fuel pump.
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUEL
PUMP BODY" on page 6-3.

7. Check the entire fuel pump system
wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM (ex-
cept for ABS models)" on page 7-91
and "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM (for ABS

Replace the ECU.

Replace the fuse(s).

• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.

Replace the main switch/immobilizer unit.

• The engine stop switch is faulty.
• Replace the right handlebar switch.

Replace the relay unit.
NG →
Replace the fuel pump.
NG →
Properly connect or replace the wire har-
ness.
