IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Your eFlow
rapid inhalation system is an
innovative device for the treatment of res-
piratory diseases. Throughout its develop-
ment, particular care was taken to consid-
er patients' needs for safe, fast, and above
all efficient treatment.
You should have a medical examination
before treating illnesses.

Safety instructions

- The device must not be left unattended
while it is in operation, or used in damp
areas or where there is a risk of
explosion.
- The device must not be used or oper-
ated if the power adapter housing or the
power cable show visible signs of dam-
age, or if a fault is suspected following a
fall or similar impact. This may cause
injury to individuals. The device must be
inspected for damage before every
inhalation session.
- Please remove the power plug from the
socket to ensure that the power is com-
pletely cut off.
- Never remove the power plug from the
socket with wet hands. There may be a
danger of electric shock.
- Do not allow pets (e.g., rodents) near
the cables.

Intended use

The eFlow
rapid is a reusable electronic
inhalation system for the treatment of dis-
eases of the respiratory system and lungs.
It is suitable for temporary oral inhalation
of liquid medication prescribed or recom-
mended by a doctor for use in the home,
hospital or doctor's practice.
The eBase Controller can also be used to
operate the drug-specific
®
Altera
nebuliser handset. The Altera
nebuliser handset is solely designed for
inhalation of the medication Cayston
(aztreonam lysine). The instructions for
®
cleaning the eFlow
set apply correspondingly to the Altera
nebuliser handset.

Patient groups

®
The eFlow
rapid assures highly effective,
rapid inhalation treatment for patients of
all ages, from infants to adults.
Caution:
In home applications, the nebuliser hand-
set is intended for use by one person only
and must not be used by anyone other
than that patient! Use by several patients
is only permitted in clinics and doctors'
practices, and only in conjunction with ap-
propriate sterilisation procedures.
Children:
- Supervised treatment: 2 to 8 years
- Treatment after instruction:
8 years and older
Adults:
To be used as directed (or after competent
instruction).
