9.2.2 check air gap
The brakes are delivered ex works with pre-set air gap "X" (nominal air gap) ready for
installation. As a result of wear, the air gap increases. To ensure proper functioning, the
air gap (distance between magnet housing and armature) must be checked in regular
intervals in a de-energised state with feeler gauge. When exceeding the value "X
ther the wearing parts must be replaced or the air gap must be readjusted (if the brake
is designed for this).
