Connecting a PTZ Camera
(DNR400 Series)
You can connect PTZ cameras (not included) to the system. FLIR IP PTZ cameras can
accept PTZ commands directly through the Ethernet cable or you can connect PTZ cam-
eras to the RS485 connectors on the back of the system.
To connect a FLIR PTZ camera to the system:
1. Connect the camera Ethernet cable to one of the PoE Ports on the system.
OR
Connect the camera to the local network (LAN) and then add it to the NVR. See 6.11
Connecting Cameras to the Local Area Network (LAN), page 11 for details.
2. Right-click and click Main Menu. Enter the system user name (default: admin) and
password (default: 000000) if prompted.
3. Click
>Setting>Pan/Tilt/Zoom.
4. Under Channel, select the channel your PTZ camera is connected to.
5. Under PTZ Type, select Remote . This allows the system to control the PTZ func-
tions over the Ethernet cable.
6. Click OK. You can now control your PTZ camera using the system.
To connect a PTZ camera to the system via RS485:
1. Connect the camera Ethernet cable to one of the PoE Ports on the system.
OR
Connect the camera to the local network (LAN) and then add it to the NVR. See 6.11
Connecting Cameras to the Local Area Network (LAN), page 11 for details.
2. Right-click and click Main Menu. Enter the system user name (default: admin) and
