CHECKING THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SHOES/

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE STEERING HEAD

2. Check:
9 Wear indicator
If the lining thickness of a brake shoe is
less than 1.5 mm (0.06 in)→ Replace the
front or rear brake shoes as a set.
Refer to "FRONT WHEEL, REAR WHEEL
AND BRAKE "in chapter 4.
NOTE:
Be sure to measure the brake lining at the
thinnest portion.
CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE STEER-
ING HEAD
1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.
w
Securely support the vehicle so that there
is no danger of it falling over.
NOTE:
Place the vehicle on a suitable stand so that
the front wheel is elevated.
2. Check:
9 Steering head
Grasp the bottom of the front fork legs
and gently rock the front fork.
Blinding/looseness → Adjust the steering
head.
3. Remove:
9 Handle protector
9 Handle
Refer to "STEERING "in chapter 4.
4. Adjust:
9 Steering head
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
a. Remove the steering stem bolt 1, washer
2 and cap bolt 3 washer 4.
