    MACS Chill Racks. 2.2 Intended use The MACS MiniSampler S is an accessory for the autoMACS NEO Separator and is intended to be used only in combination with this instrument for automated magnetic cell separation. Its purpose is to adjust the rack position during automated processing of multiple samples.

    3.3 Assembly Electric devices bear the risk of electric shock, short circuits, overheating, fire, and explosion. This may lead to burns, severe personal injury, or death. • Do not use the instrument if it has been dropped or is damaged. Use the MACS MiniSampler S with the autoMACS NEO Separator only.
  • Page 22 Lower the MACS MiniSampler S to a horizontal position until it is locked. Open the front cover of the autoMACS NEO Separator. The MACS MiniSampler S is installed correctly when the boreholes in the autoMACS NEO Separator and in the MACS MiniSampler S mounting bracket are aligned. Secure the MACS MiniSampler S with the supplied knurled screw.

    10 Mounting brackets for the protective cover are located on both sides of the MACS MiniSampler S. Attach the cover from above. Keep it attached and closed during operation. Fold the cover open to change racks and samples. To disassemble the MACS MiniSampler S follow steps 3 to 10 in reverse order. 3.4 Switching on and off When switching on the autoMACS NEO Separator the MACS MiniSampler S starts automatically.

    Place a Chill Rack (e.g. Chill 15 Rack) on the left side of the MACS MiniSampler S. Make sure that the barcodes of the racks are facing the instrument. Rack details are shown in the autoMACS NEO Separator user interface. Refer to the autoMACS NEO Separator user manual for further information. 3.6 Calibrating racks For calibration of MACS Chill Racks read the calibration instructions in the autoMACS NEO Separator user manual.
