ENGINE OPERATION
2. Remove the flywheel cover.

2. Rubber grommet
3. Insert the knotted end of the starter
rope into the notch in the flywheel
and wind the rope clockwise around
the flywheel several turns.

4. Tie a loop in the another end of the
emergency starter rope and attach
socket wrench, both the loop and the
wrench are provided in outboard
motor box.

CAUTION
Be sure to keep the harness away from the
rotation parts.

5. Be sure to install the stop switch lock
to the stop switch, and attach the
stop switch lanyard securely to the
operator or to the operator's PFD
(Personal Flotation Device.)
6. Set the control lever in the Neutral
position.
7. Pull the starter handle slowly until you
feel engagement, keep pulling till you
feel less resistance. Then pull it
quickly.
8. Once the outboard motor is started,
do not reinstall the recoil starter and
top cowl.

Be sure to check that cooling water is dis-
charged from the cooling water check port
during warm up.
