Troubleshooting Table

Problem:
Appliance Does Not Light
and igniter does not Glow
Red
Appliance Does Not Light
and Igniter Glows Red
Appliance Lights During
Ignition Sequence then
Goes Out During Normal
Operation
Flames are too short
Glass is Sooting

Maintenance
Possible Cause:
Electrical Power Off
Igniter burned out
Burner or burner orifice may be dirty
or blocked
Gas is Off
Not enough electrical current to the
fireplace
Dirty Air Channel or Burner
Thermopile has worn out
The gas supply pressure to the
appliance is too low.
Burner or burner orifice may be
dirty or blocked
Windy Condition

Don't Call for Service
Until You:
Verify power is on and check the circuit
breaker or GFCI.
Replace Igniter
Contact your dealer for details on removing
any debris (spider webs, etc.) from the burner
and orifice area.
Turn Gas On (check shut-off valve)
Voltage must be checked with power draw
(fireplace in startup)
Clean soot from burner, and any air channels.
If problem persists, contact the dealer for
service.
Replace thermopile
Depleted LP cylinder.
Gas supply lines or gas regulators do not
have enough capacity. This may be due to
other appliances in the house using up the
available capacity, e.g. pool heaters,
furnaces, hot water tanks, etc.
Contact your dealer for details on removing
any debris (spider webs, etc.) from the burner
and orifice area.
Wind will influence the flame quality and, if
persistent, may lead to sooting on the glass.
