Fireback Installation
GLASS FIREBACK WARNINGS
HANDLING THE FIREBACKS: The glass firebacks are fragile – especially the edges. Take care to prevent
contacting/scraping the glass against metal or rough surfaces. You may wish to lay out a blanket during
installation in case you need to set the firebacks down.
We recommend the use of gloves and safety glasses during the installation of the glass firebacks.
CLEANING
These firebacks require periodic cleaning. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners (this may cloud the glass). We
recommend ammonia-free glass cleaner (i.e., vinegar and water) to clean the fireback.
Install the firebacks after the fireplace is in position.
Install the firebacks before installing the glass wind guard and glass media.
See-Through installations use only (2) side firebacks.
Single-sided installations use (2) side firebacks and (3) rear firebacks.
Installation
WARNING Turn off the gas to the appliance and make sure it has fully cooled prior to conducting
service.
Install the included Black Glass Firebacks by following the instructions below.
Remove the (2) end media trays (see section "Removing the Media Trays" on page 37).
NOTE: You only need to remove the (2) end media trays, not the longer front and back media trays.
To install, lift the fireback section into place using suction cups (available from your Fire Garden
Dealer – sku# 94400914). See the illustration below for instructions on sliding it into place. The
painted surface of the glass scratches easily and must be placed away from the fire.
