RDL-3000 Ellipse TMA Sector Controller Installation Guidelines

GPS Antenna Port

The GPS antenna port (TNC / F connector) conducts RF signals from an attached GPS
antenna system. This port is provided only on units factory-equipped with GPS
hardware. The system supports passive and active GPS antenna types. The GPS
antenna can be located up to 46 m (~150 ft) of high quality antenna cable.
A factory-installed protective weatherproof plastic cap is installed on the GPS antenna
port. The port must be weatherproofed if this cap is removed.
Notes:
1. The GPS antenna is active type.
2. The GPS module does not set the internal date/time clock.

Ground Lug

A ground-lug
is provided on the Ellipse TMA chassis. Use this connection to
terminate a grounding wire. All Ellipse TMA systems must be properly grounded to
protect against power surges and accumulated static electricity.

RF Ports

The two RF ports (N-type F connectors) conduct RF signals between the Ellipse TMA
and the antenna system (ordered separately). The Ellipse TMA can be operated using a
SISO (single antenna) or MIMO (multiple antenna) system. RF jumper cables are
included with Redline mounting kits.
