RDL-3000 Ellipse TMA Sector Controller Installation Guidelines
2.2
TMA Tower Amplifier
The tower amplifier is mounted on the sector antenna. This provides extra RF gain and
additional flexibility in location for mounting the sector antennas. The transmit/receive
operations are synchronized using the TMA synchronization signal.

RF In Ports
The RF-1 and RF-2 input ports (TNC type F connectors) conduct RF signals between
the Ellipse TMA and the TMA RF Tower Amplifier system.
TMA-SYNC Port
The TMA-Sync port (TNC / F connector) is used to synchronize operation of the remote
TMA SYNC RF Tower Amplifier units.
The TMA-SYNC ports of all units must be interconnected using LMR-195 (or equivalent)
coaxial cable terminated with TNC / M connectors. Use TNC Tee adapters to connect
units in a daisy-chain configuration.
Important: Multiple RF Amplifier units can be synchronized using up to 46 m (~150 ft).of
interconnecting synchronization cable.
