USB menu – software update, maintenance manual
The control unit's face side presents a USB port that can take a storage medium. This USB port
lets you:
update software
save/load a configuration
save logging data
save a maintenance manual
USB
Software update
Cycle settings to USB
Record events
Record everything
Remove safely
IMPORTANT
Moisture and dirt may enter the device through an unprotected USB port. For this reason, make
sure that after using the face-side USB port it is sealed properly with the rubber cover. Check
this rubber cover regularly, and replace immediately when damaged.

USB stick requirements:
FAT32 file system (NTFS not supported)
Read only OFF
No partitioning

Removing the USB stick safely
To prevent data loss, make sure before removing the memory that data are no longer being writ-
ten to or read from it.
Execute the menu function "Remove safely" before withdrawing the USB stick.
This updates the microcontroller's firmware via USB. See
Subsection 4.4.7.3 for further details.
Transfer a config file with operating parameters from the con-
trol unit to USB memory. See below for further details.
All controller events are recorded and saved to USB.
All controller events and sensor measurements are recorded
and saved to USB.
To prevent data loss, make sure before removing the memory
that data are no longer being written to or read from it.
