282 Maintenance and care
Notes on the care of vehicle parts
& WARNING Risk of injury if unsuitable
climbing aids are used
If you use openings in the vehicle's body work
or detachable parts as steps, you could:
slip and/or fall.

Wheels/rims Use water and acid-free alloy wheel
cleaner.
Windows
Clean windows inside and outside with a
damp cloth and with a cleaning agent
recommended for Mercedes-Benz.
Wiper blades Carefully clean the folded-away wiper
blades with a damp cloth.
Exterior
Clean the plastic lenses with a wet
lighting
sponge and mild cleaning agent, for
example, Mercedes-Benz car shampoo.
Sensors
Clean the sensors in the front and rear
bumpers with a soft cloth and car sham‐
poo.

Information on suitable cleaning agents or
cleaning cloths can be obtained from a quali‐
fied specialist workshop.
Preventing damage to the vehicle
Do not use acidic wheel alloy clean‐
R
ers to remove brake dust. Otherwise,
wheel bolts and brake components
may be damaged.
To avoid corrosion of brake discs and
R
brakepads, drive for a few minutes
after cleaning before parking the
vehicle. The brake discs and brake‐
pads warm up and dry out.
Do not use dry cloths or abrasive or sol‐
vent-based cleaning agents to clean the
inside of windows.
Do not clean the wiper blades too often.
Only use cleaning agents or cloths suita‐
ble for plastic covers.
When using a high-pressure cleaner,
keep a minimum distance of 30 cm.
