Autocorr Objectives - Installation
When retrofitting autocorr objectives in most cases the firmware of the microscope has to be
updated. Check with your local ZEISS support, whether this also applies to your system.
• Indicate the objective with its correct number (written on the objective) in the software of the
microscope through the TFT interface.
• Shut down the microscope/system and connect the additional CAN distributor box to any free
connector on the microscope.
• Screw the objective into the position of the objective turret that was set in the TFT interface. You
might have to remove neighboring objectives to do so. It is not possible to use two adjacent positions
for autocorr objectives; they have to alternate with standard objectives.
• Check whether turning the objective turret does not lead to a collision of the objective with the
microscopes body. If so, loosen the small screws at the objective thread and slightly turn the objective
such that it fits without colliding. Don't forget to retighten the screws.
• Connect the objective to the can distributor box using any free connector.
• Restart the microscope / system.
• Open the ZEN Configuration Tool and perform the following steps to indicate the autocorr
objectives to the software:
− Chose main tab: Microscope
− Chose sub-tab: Objectives
− Activate the checkbox: motorized correction ring
− Click onto the button for the objective position (i.e. Pos3) which is identical to the one which now
holds the autorcorr objective.
− In the Objectives dialog chose the corresponding autocorr objective and select it for this position
− Confirm the changes to the database by clicking "Store all changes".
− Exit the ZEN Configuration Tool.
• Start ZEN.
• Within the Acquisition tool window the slider for controlling the correction ring is now visible when
the autocorr objective is selected. See also the corresponding description in the SW chapter of this
manual (Chapter 1 System Operation).
• The last position of the slider is stored when the system is shut down. When restarting the system
again, the last positon of the slider is then set again.
