Inspection

Pentair Südmo valves do not require special maintenance. In the intervals between maintenance procedures, however, it
is necessary to check the tightness and correct operation of the seals by means of regular visual inspections.
9.3.

Preventive maintenance

9.3.1.

Process contact seals

Preventive maintenance intervals to be determined by the respective user/operator. Pentair Südmo cannot provide a
guaranteed life for wear parts because it is dependent on the following individual application parameters:
Duration of daily operating time
Switching intervals
Process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow)
Type of product (fat content, flavors, acids)
Type of cleaning (CIP/SIP/Sanitization)
Seal material
We recommend, based the process parameters (see to chapter 3.5. „ Allowed operating media, pressures and tempera-
tures") and the intended purpose of the valve in use, a maintenance interval of 6-24 month.
9.3.2.

Actuator seals

Preventive maintenance intervals to be determined by the respective user/operator. Pentair Südmo cannot provide a
guaranteed life for wear parts because it is dependent on the following individual application parameters:
Duration of daily operating time
Switching intervals
Pneumatic parameters ( pressure, quality)
Type of external cleaning
We recommend, based on the pneumatic parameters (see to chapter 3.9. „Control air") and the intended purpose of the
valve in use, a maintenance interval not exceeding 5 years.

when dismantling the control unit, the closing spring is preloaded with auxil-
iary assembly air. To actuate the valves in the manual mode, the supply
voltage and/or electrical signal must be applied.
when dismounting the control unit, the closing spring is to be preloaded. In
case of non-compliance there is a risk of injury when removing the clamp
connection, due to the released spring tension of the actuator.
Secure SVP aseptic change-over valves against signaling, voltage and sig-
nal cut-off, operation and actuation.
the power supply has been disconnected.
the SVP aseptic change-over valve is removed from the piping section, if
possible.
Cordon off assembly area.
Ensure that the assembly area remains cordoned off while work is being per-
formed.
