Never spray in the direction of other
persons, animals or property which
might be injured or damaged by the
spray solution. Keep bystanders away
when spraying.
To reduce the risk of injury or property damage
from unintended activation, remove the battery
any time the sprayer is not in use, @ 6.1.
5 IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
5.1

Introduction

When using a battery-powered sprayer, basic precautions
should always be followed, including the following:

WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock or other
personal injury, read and follow the important safety
instructions in this chapter. Additional important warnings
and instructions are provided in subsequent chapters of
this manual.

Intended Use

WARNING
■ Use your backpack sprayer for spraying chemicals and
other liquid solutions to control pests and weeds in fruit,
flower and vegetable gardens, on trees and bushes, and
on other plants. Do not use it for other purposes since
misuse may result in personal injury or property damage,
including damage to the sprayer itself.

5 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

■ Use only chemical solutions that are specifically approved
for use in pressurized sprayers by their manufacturer and
meet all safety regulations, standards and ordinances.
Never spray chemical solutions that are caustic,
corrosive, or poisonous.
■ The sprayer is designed for outdoor use. It may be used
in greenhouses that are well-ventilated if the manufacturer
of the chemical being sprayed allows such use at the
concentration being applied. Always wear proper
protective equipment and follow the chemical
manufacturer's warnings and safety instructions.
■ In all applications, the operator must be protected from
any harmful exposure through the use of proper eye and
respiratory protection, appropriate protection against skin
contact, and protection from ingestion through the nose or
mouth. Special precautions not specified here may be
necessary, depending on the chemical being sprayed
■ Use the sprayer only as described in this manual.
– Never attempt to modify or override the sprayer's
controls or safety devices in any way.
– Never use a sprayer that has been modified or
altered from its original design.
■ This sprayer may be powered only by a STIHL AP series
battery.
Batteries, chargers and other accessories are sold
separately.
