Upgrade Preparation

The installation kit contains several upgrade kits for older instruments:
If you have an installed instrument, inspect the instrument to determine
which of these kits need to be installed. These parts are already installed on
new instruments.
You also need to adjust the position of the
wrench, and a 7 mm spacing tool are provided for setting the distance of the

To remove the ESI or Agilent Jet Stream source

Autotune is not supported with the Agilent G1992A Nanospray Ion Source. Before

changing the source, do all tuning with the ESI or Agilent Jet Stream source. Calibration
can still be done with the Nanospray Ion Source.
1 Put the instrument into standby mode and lower the source temperatures
2 When the source is cool, turn off the nebulizer, drying gas, and sheath gas
3 Remove the existing source, install the protective cover and store in a safe
4 Remove the spray shield and store with the source.
