Description
Option 037 Performance Verification
This
test
is to be
performed
on option 030 imtrume
nts containhg
Option 037
as
one of the alternate
channel
filters. In t h i s
test
an HP 8662A
(or level
8ccut8cg
equivalent altemative) is used
to simulate
both
an in-channel and
adjacent channel
signal.
The
signal
generator
is
first
tuned in-channel so
that the
reference can be
set for the
adjacent cSlAnnel
power
measurement.
The
signal
g e m t o r
is
thentunedtothe adjacent channel
andthe LO
ShiRedto measure
the
signal
generator.
The
output
level of
the
signal
generator is varied
to
exercise different combinations of
IF
gaia Testing
is
done
using
anHP 8660 as anexternal
LO
source.

On the Measuring Receiver, key in the following:
a. 41.0SP (Perform instrument PRESET)
b. 1200 MHz
(Manual tune LO to eliminate internal LO interference)
c. 23.1SP (Select external
LO)

24.0SP (Initialize Option 030)
e. 24.5SP (Select Option 037 filter, displays

Offset EXTERNAL LO signal generator UP 10 kJ3z (800.465 MHz).
Offset SOURCE signal generator

10 kHz (800.010 MHz).
Change signal generator power level t o -75 a m . Read the ratio displayed on Measuring
Receiver. If the display is slightly unstable due to noise, then average the readings.
Change signal generator power level to -65 dBm. Read the ratio displayed on Measuring
Receiver.
Change the signal generator power level to -45
dBm.
Read the ratio displayed
on
the
Measuring Receiver.
