Substitute value behavior (failsafe behavior)

The substitute value behavior defines the module behavior when process data is
missing.
Once a module has exchanged valid process data for the first time after switching
on the power supply, the substitute value behavior is activated.
If valid process data is missing (e.g., in the event the connection is aborted), the
module changes to the substitute value behavior.
Typically, the substitute value behavior is parameterized using the engineering
tool or object 0024
"Substitute value behavior when process data is missing".

Possible settings for the substitute value behavior
To determine whether, and if yes, which substitute value behavior can
be parameterized for a module, please refer to the module-specific
data sheet.
