Chapter 8—Using Multis

Playing Songs

SMF (Standard MIDI File) sequence data can be played on the Z8 as follows.
Press "SONG" on the SELECT page in Multi mode.

You will need to select a Song in this window to play the Song.
Select the song parameter, then use the JOG dial to select a song.

Only Songs already in memory can be selected. See page 18 for information on loading
Songs.
Songs can be deleted by using the Song List window, which is accessed by pressing the
WINDOW button.
Set the other parameters as required.

When set to "MANUAL," the "Manual Tempo" parameter setting is used.

Press "STOP" or "PAUSE" to stop or pause playback.

Multi name
This determines the bar from which playback starts.
This determines the bar at which playback ends.
(FILE, MANUAL) This parameter determines the source of the tempo
This sets the tempo when the Tempo mode is set to "MANUAL." This
This is the bar and beat counter.
This indicates the time signature.
(A, B, OFF) This determines which set of MIDI Channels (A or B) are used
This indicates the current tempo.
