Installation notes for trigger sensors
The trigger sensor measures the crank angle 0° as reference angle. A trigger sensor may be
an inductive proximity switch with a 24 V output.
Install the trigger sensor in the gear unit of the pump so that it detects the approach of the
piston rod in cylinder 1. You may also apply a marking on the crankshaft whose center is
located at crank angle 0° and the sensor may detect this marking.
Note
Crank angle 0°
The crank angle 0° is the angle at which cylinder 1 changes from suction stroke to pressure
stroke. The suction valve will close at this point.
A voltage of 24 V will have to be present at the trigger sensor output at crank angle 0°. The
trigger signal at maximum crankshaft speed must be present for at least 10 ms.
The following table shows the maximum marking size for 10 ms trigger signals depending on
the maximum crankshaft speed:
