Commands used when working with the Counter Terminal
Using the input wiring parameter, you can connect a filter or influence the
conditions of both inputs (source-gate link).
If the pulse generator operating mode has been set then bits 8 and 9 are
internally automatically set to the bit combination 10
been otherwise set then this setting is ignored.

If you are using mechanical switches (e.g. relays) then you should switch
on the source and gate filter in order to avoid or to minimize the effects of
contact bounce. This filter must be switched off when semiconductors or
light barriers are used.
If various different types of switch are used at the source and gate input
(mechanical and electronic) then the effects of wiring both with and
without filter should be checked beforehand.
Please observe that the most recent input wiring is always accepted by
the counter terminal. It is not possible, e.g. to first set a filter for
mechanical contacts and to then carry out a source-gate link. In this case,
only the source-gate link would be accepted and the filter would no longer
be connected!
You can use the source-gate connection in operating modes frequency
measurement, event counter and time measurement.
