In case of a source-gate connection, one signal is formed from both the
input signals source (S) and gate (G); this signal is then available after
processing as the new source signal according to the logical function.In
the following, this signal will simply be referred to as source' (S'). The
original source signal is now no longer available. The original gate signal
can still be used.
Using this source-gate connection, you can implement not only the most
common logical functions (see Fig. 6-24), but also every other possible
function (Fig. 6-26).
