Force transducer operation

The force transducers from the CFT series operate in accordance with the
piezoelectric principle. Compressive forces are transmitted to the two gallium
phosphate measuring elements via the pre-stressed force application surfaces.
They separate the electrical charges in proportion to the force curve. Charges
are produced on the surface of the measuring elements that are forwarded by
an electrode between the measuring elements and the sensor housing to the
plug of the force transducer. If a charge amplifier is connected via a suitable
cable, the charge signal can be converted into a voltage signal or a digital force
signal.
