■ NEW VEHICLE RUN-IN
PERIOD
NOTICE
Your vehicle doesn't need an
elaborate "run-in", however it
will perform better in the long
run if you follow these
guidelines:
• Keep your speed at 90 km/h
(55 mph) or less for the first
800 km (500 miles).
• Don't drive at a constant
speed - fast or slow - for the
first 800 km (500 miles).
Don't make full-throttle starts.
• Avoid down-shifting to brake
or slow your vehicle.
NOTICE
(Continued)
• Avoid making hard stops for
the first 320 km (200 miles)
or so. Hard stops with new
brake linings can mean pre-
mature wear. Follow this "run-
in" guideline every time you
get new brake linings.
• Do not tow a trailer during
"run-in".
• Following run-in, engine
speed and load can be gradu-
ally increased.
