Rear-Mounted Spare Tyre

The spare tyre is attached to the
tyre carrier on the outside of the
vehicle.
Always close and latch the spare
tyre cover.
NOTICE
Make sure the spare tyre cover
is completely closed before
opening the swing-gate.
Opening the swing-gate with
the spare tyre cover unlatched
could damage the vehicle.

Although the spare tyre was fully
inflated when your vehicle was
new, it can lose air after a time.
Check the inflation pressure
regularly.
See the tyre information label for
the proper tyre inflation
specifications.
To determine the location of your
vehicle's tyre information label,
see "Vehicle Loading" in Section 3.
After installing the spare tyre
on your vehicle, stop as soon as
possible to make sure the tyre is
correctly inflated.
The spare tyre is made to be
driven at speeds up to 112 km/h
(70 mph).
Have a damaged or flat road tyre
repaired as soon as you can.
Of course it is best to replace your
spare with a road tyre as soon as
you can. Your spare will last longer
and be in good shape in case you
need to use it again.
Do not mix tyres and wheels of
different sizes because they will
not fit. Keep the spare tyre and
wheel together.
