The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is
the maximum permissible loaded
weight of the vehicle. It includes
the weight of the vehicle, all occu-
pants, fuel and cargo, as well as
the weight of the trailer tongue if
you are pulling a trailer.

Maximum Front and Rear Axle

This is the maximum weight that
the front axle can carry (the front
Gross Axle Weight Rating) and the
maximum weight that the rear
axle can carry (the rear Gross Axle
Weight Rating).

The weight of the cargo load must
be properly distributed over both
the front and rear axles.
If you are unsure of your vehicle's
front, rear or total weight, weigh

CAUTION
If you don't use the correct
equipment and drive properly,
you could lose control when
you pull a trailer behind your
vehicle. You could have a seri-
ous accident.
For example, if the trailer is too
heavy, the brakes may not work
well, or they may not even work

be seriously injured.
