A. The current printhead height is 1100 μm to print media 1 with thickness 100 μm. The print gap
matches the minimum print gap of media 1.
B. Media 2 is the next media (200 μm) to print. With the current printhead height, the print gap for
media 2 will become 900 μm. However, the minimum print gap of media 2 is 1000 μm. The printer
will move the printheads up.
C. Now, the printhead height is 1200 μm, which realizes that the print gap (1000 μm) corresponds
with the minimum print gap of media 2.

Increasing and decreasing the [Minimum print gap] parameter
1. Decreasing the [Minimum print gap] parameter value can:
• Improve the print quality. Check if the smaller print gap causes more sentry rejects.
• Optimize the print productivity for mixed-media jobs or for subsequent jobs with different
