Symbol Barcodes - Scanner Parameters – SE Barcode Type Specific
MacroPDF – SE2223 Only

This section discusses programmable Macro PDF features fully supported by the SE 2223. Macro
PDF is a special feature for concatenating multiple PDF symbols into one file. The SE 2223 can
decode symbols that are encoded with this feature, however, the 64K version cannot buffer large sets
of macro PDF symbols.

Select only one of the four barcodes/options that follow for handling the decoding of Macro PDF.
The decoder can handle up to 64K bytes of decoded data, including any optional field information,
except in the mode Transmit Each Macro PDF Symbol Decoded in Sequential Order, where there is
no limit to the size of the Macro PDF set.
Scan the appropriate option. To select a different option, before saving, scan the Cancel barcode on
the following page, then scan the desired option.

When printing, keep each Macro PDF sequence separate, as each sequence has unique
identifiers. Do not mix barcodes from several Macro PDF sequences, even if they encode the
same data. When scanning Macro PDF sequences, scan the entire Macro PDF sequence
without interruption. If you scan a mixed sequence, you get two long low beeps (Lo Lo) for
inconsistent file ID or inconsistent symbology error.
When scanning macro PDF with battery-powered scanner models, remember that the
decoder must remain active throughout the session, which depletes battery power. For best
results, make sure battery power is adequate, and scan the macro PDF sequence efficiently.
Before programming these special features, follow the physical setup instructions. Then
program the required generic decode and data transmission parameters using the barcodes
on the following pages. Use the same programming method for setting Macro PDF features
as used for standard features. Note that all parameter settings are stored in non-volatile
memory and so are retained after powerdown.
