Preparation for installing the unit
Reserve a solid wall to which to attach the unit. It must be possible to drill the wall and fit suitable wall anchors
and self-tapping screws to support the unit's weight.

5.4. Protection of the connection to the electricity grid

It is necessary to install protection elements in the connection between the inverter and the electricity grid.
Thermomagnetic circuit breaker
A thermomagnetic circuit breaker and/or fuse must be installed on the connection between the inverter and the
electricity grid.
The following table provides the necessary data for the selection of these devices by the installer.

When selecting the protection in an installation you must take into account that its breaking capacity is greater
than the short-circuit current of the grid connection point.
You must take into account when correctly selecting the protection that the ambient working temperature
influences the maximum current permitted by these protections as indicated by the manufacturer.
Integrated residual current device
These units inject differential current into the electricity grid. The current's amplitude depends mostly on the stray
capacity of the PV array to ground. The differential current in permanent status allowed by safety regulation IEC
62109 is 10 mARMS per kVA. A 100 kVA unit should be limited to a maximum of 1.0 Arms.
Given that the maximum permitted residual current is 1 Arms, it is not necessary to install a residual current
protection at the unit's output, at its connection to the grid, for downstream protection.
External residual current device
The residual current protection integrated in the unit does not detect residual currents produced upstream of the
inverter. If a residual current device is installed upstream of the inverter or inverters, it must:
Have an assigned trip residual current of at least the sum of the residual currents of the units connected
downstream.
Be of type B.
For example, any residual current device connected upstream of three units must be type B and have an assigned
residual current of at least 3 Arms.

5.5. Type of grid

These units must be connected to a three-phase grid with a star formation with grounded neutral. Therefore,
admissible grounding systems are TT and TN.
They cannot be connected to IT grids or delta grids with one of their lines grounded.

5.6. Cabling length

The inverter measures the voltage in its connection terminals. For this reason, the installer must use an AC cable
with a sufficiently low impedance so that increasing the voltage in the cable (between the distribution transformers
and the unit) does not cause the unit to be disconnected due to high voltage.

5.7. Photovoltaic panels

Standard IEC 62109 defines this inverter as a stand-alone inverter, and therefore the photovoltaic modules used
with it must be class A according to IEC 61730.
The stray capacity of the PV array must always be lower than:
