(6) Before installing the propeller on the engine, the propeller
must be statically balanced. New propellers are statically
balanced at Hartzell. Overhauled propellers must be
statically balanced by the overhaul facility before return to
service.
Dynamic balance is recommended, but may be
NOTE:
accomplished at the discretion of the operator,
unless specifically required by the airframe
or engine manufacturer. Dynamic balancing
is to be accomplished in accordance with the
procedures and limitations in the Maintenance
Practices chapter of this manual. Additional
procedures may be found in the aircraft
maintenance manual.
(7) As necessary, use a soft, non-graphite pencil or crayon
to make identifying marks on components.
(8) As applicable, follow

general practices. Use 0.032 inch (0.81 mm) diameter
stainless steel safety wire unless otherwise indicated.
(9) The airframe manufacturer's manuals should be used in
addition to the information in this manual due to possible
special requirements for specific aircraft applications.

that uses components supplied by Hartzell Propeller Inc.,
applicable instructions and technical information for the
components supplied by Hartzell can be found in the
