Installation Tools and Materials
You will need the following to install the Freedom EX 4000:
Wire/cable stripper
n
½" screws or bolts for mounting vertically
n
#2 Phillips torque screwdriver
n
Torque wrench for DC terminals (½" or 13mm socket
n
wrench)
AC cable (that is, three-conductor-plus-ground cable),
n
sized appropriately for load and application
½" (or ¾") trade-size bushings (supplied)
n
ferrite cores (supplied)
n
½" (or ¾") trade-size strain relief device (optional)
n
Wire nuts or crimp connectors for AC wire and appropriate
n
tools and also if installing the 20-pin harness (PN: 808-
0820, sold separately)
DC cable, sized appropriately for battery and load (more
n
on page 1)
Lugs for DC cables to fit
n
appropriate tools (like a crimping tool)
AC and DC disconnects and over-current protective
n
devices, as appropriate
Drip shields (not supplied) for Marine installations. See
n
Drip Shield Installation on page 44.
