The Gi29 gas insert must be installed in accordance
with the instructions in this manual; carefully read
them. Consult the authority having jurisdiction in
your area to determine the need for permits prior
to starting the installation. It is the responsibility
of the installer to ensure this fireplace is installed
in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions
and all applicable codes.

Approved for use in Canada and the USA.
This appliance is a millivolt standing pilot system
fitted with the on demand pilot, a safety feature
that shuts down the gas valve by extinguishing the
pilot light after seven days of inactivity. Each time
the main burner shuts down, manually or through a
call from the thermostat, the seven day timer starts
again. While on these standing pilot systems, the
control valve is adjusted manually and the seven-
day inactivity timer is managed by a circuit board.
If the pilot light extinguishes after seven days of
inactivity, the control knob will remain in the ON
position. The pilot cannot be lit again until the
control knob is manually returned to the OFF
position. If the unit never goes as long as seven
days without a call for heat, the pilot will remain lit
until it is manually shut off. See the instructions in
this manual and on the appliance's lighting
instructions plate to light or relight the pilot.

This appliance requires air for proper combustion.
Always provide adequate combustion and ventilation
air. Follow instructions and information in CAN/CGA
B149 (in Canada) or the National Fuel Gas Code
ANSI Z223.1 (in the USA), regarding requirements
for combustion and ventilation air.
