ETC Installation Guide
0–10 V Dimming Switch Sensor
Location
ETC recommends paying special attention to the installation environment:
Install the sensor where it cannot easily sense movement in areas
•
outside of the intended space, such as hallways, glass partitions, or
adjacent rooms.
For optimal performance, install the sensor within the specified
•
mounting height: 90–150 cm (3–5 ft) above the floor.
The sensor must have clear field of view of the entire room. Do not
•
mount behind or near tall cabinets, shelves, hanging light fixtures,
plants, etc. Every occupant within the desired sense range should be
able to clearly see the sensor (line-of-sight).
The sensor is more sensitive to the movements crossing the detection
•
zones than those moving toward or away from the detection zones. The
closer movement is to the sensor, the more sensitive the sensor response
will be.
Do NOT mount the sensor directly above or nearby a heat source, or
•
where the sensor will detect unintended motion (e.g., hallway traffic).
The HFD sensor is more sensitive to minor motions than the PIR sensor
•
and could possibly detect movements through non-metallic partitions,
causing a false occupancy event. If these conditions occur, reduce the
HFD sensitivity. See
