COM 4 (or 8-bit DIO): RS232
COM 2: RS232/RS422/RS485
COM 1 and COM 2 can be selected among RS232/RS422/RS485 whereas COM 3 and COM 4
are fixed at RS232. Use the BIOS configuration utility to select the communication mode for
COM 1 and COM 2.
BIOS Setting
Configure the serial ports in the "Advanced" menu (Super I/O submenu) of the BIOS. Refer
to Chapter 7 for more information.

COM 4 (Serial) Port
This DB-9 serial port can be configured as an RS232 serial port or as an 8-bit DIO connector
via jumper settings. Refer to "COM 4/DIO Select" in Chapter 4 for its respective configuration.
8-bit Digital IO
The 8-bit Digital I/O connector provides monitoring and control functions to the connected
external devices. You can use the HW utility provided in the Manual and Driver CD to set the
DIO pins to be either input or output.
