Installing IPSSEND and IPSMON for Linux

To install these programs for Linux 2.2.x (and later):
1. Start the server.
2. After the operating system starts, insert the IBM ServeRAID Support CD into the CD-ROM drive.
3. Mount the CD by typing the following at the console:
mount -t iso966 -o ro /dev/cd /mnt
Notes:
a. where /dev/cd0 is the specific device file for the CD-ROM block device. If you have more than
one CD-ROM, you must replace /dev/cd0 with the specific name of the CD-ROM you want to use.
b. If you currently have another device mounted on /mnt, you must create a new directory and
substitute its name for /mnt in these instructions.
4. Press Enter; then, type:
cp /mnt/programs/linux/cmdline/ipssend /usr/bin
cp /mnt/programs/linux/cmdline/ipsmon /usr/bin
5. Press Enter; then, type:
chmod 7 /usr/bin/ipssend
chmod 7 /usr/bin/ipsmon
6. Press Enter; then, unmount the CD-ROM by typing the following:
umount /mnt
7. Press Enter. You can now remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive.
8. Refer to Chapter 5, "Using utility programs" on page 73 for information to start and use the IPSSEND
and IPSMON programs.

Installing IPSSEND and IPSMON for OpenServer

To install these programs for OpenServer 5.0.x:
1. Start the server.
2. After the operating system starts, insert the IBM ServeRAID Support CD into the CD-ROM drive.
3. Mount the CD by typing the following at the console:
mount -f ISO966 -o ro,lower /dev/cd /mnt
Notes:
a. where /dev/cd0 is the specific device file for the CD-ROM block device. If you have more than
one CD-ROM, you must replace /dev/cd0 with the specific name of the CD-ROM you want to use.
b. If you currently have another device mounted on /mnt, you must create a new directory and
substitute its name for /mnt in these instructions.
4. Press Enter; then, type:
cp /mnt/programs/openserv/cmdline/ipssend /usr/bin
cp /mnt/programs/openserv/cmdline/ipsmon /usr/bin
5. Press Enter; then, type:
chmod 7 /usr/bin/ipssend
chmod 7 /usr/bin/ipsmon
