USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING the DVS WITH
ANY PANEL REMOVED. ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN KILL: Touching live
electrical parts can cause fatal shocks or severe burns. The input power circuitry and
internal circuits are live whenever input power is on.
DANGER
A)
Not field serviceable. Contact your Authorized DVS Fast Charging System service
provider.
B)
This component may be replaced by a qualified service technician. Refer to the section
listed in the right column for more information. Contact Webasto Customer Service for
availability of spare parts.
C)
At utility power disconnect box, measure voltage between phases and confirm that all
measurements are within acceptable range of nominal voltage. Details on input voltage
range are found in WCSI Doc. 08750-76 and 08750-10. Contact facility electrician if any
voltage measurements are not within specifications. Turn off power at utility disconnect
and check contin uity through main utility fuses at disconnect.
If proper utility voltage is present at disconnect, remove front panel of DVS Power
Supply cabinet and measure line-to-line voltages at input of contactor K1. If voltages at
K1 are not within range, shut down unit, turn off power at utility disconnect, and re-install
utility wiring per instructions in WCSI Doc. 08750-76.
Check fuses F1, F2 and F3 and replace any blown fuses per section 3.4.4. Check all
system wiring and connections because the most likely cause of a blown fuse is improper
wiring.
D)
Identify equipment that shares the same voltage supply line, and temporarily shut it down.
If the charger starts to respond normally, check the grounds on all of the installed
equipment
E)
Check the power cables and connectors as well as output wiring of the BMID unit per
section 3.3.1.
F)
Visually inspect the BMID and the thermistor. If the potting of the BMID looks cracked,
or the thermistor appears corroded, avoid erratic charging by replacing these components
even if functional problems have not yet occurred. Temporarily attach another BMID or
thermistor to the pack. If the problem is resolved, replace the bad component. If the
problem persists, plug the vehicle into another charge port. If this corrects the problem,
check continuity on all BMID interfaces on the original charge port.

The DVS Fast Charging System contains built-in safety systems which will fold back
charge in response to high battery temperatures, and stop charge completely if the
batteries get above a manufacturer's specified threshold temperature. If the charger has
