2.
Disconnect wire 59 from terminal 5 of EDA board.
3.
Set potentiometers P1 through P6 according to the chart on Figure 5-4. Base EDA Board Setting.
4.
Switch base key switch to platform, pull out base control panel emergency stop switch.
5.
Pull out platform control console emergency stop switch and turn ignition switch to on.
DO NOT START ENGINE AT THIS TIME.
6.
Depress foot switch.
7.
Attach meter leads to the "Set" and "MO" terminals on the EDA board. Refer to Figure 5-4. Base EDA Board
Setting for terminal location.
8.
Adjust P6 on EDA board to 0 volts.
9.
Start engine and select LOW RPM's with engine speed switch. (Lower position)
10.
Attach meter leads to the "L" terminal of the EDA board and a good chassis ground. (The rest of the adjustments
to the EDA board will be measured this way)
11.
Adjust P1 on EDA board to 1.32 volts.
12.
Select HIGH RPM's with engine speed switch (Upper position).
13.
Adjust P2 on EDA board to 1.83 volts. NOTE: Dip switch sequence 1 - 4 on SW1 may have to be changed in
order to obtain 1.83 volts.
Adjusting P2 will affect adjustment of P1. Repeat steps 9 through 13 until voltages stay in adjustment.
14.
Reattach wire 59 to terminal 5 of the EDA board. Make sure the telescopic boom sections are fully retracted
and the main boom is below horizontal.
15.
Select LOW RPM's with engine speed switch (Lower position).
16.
Adjust P3 on EDA board to 3.79 volts.
17.
Select HIGH RPM's with engine speed switch (Upper position).
18.
Adjust P4 on EDA board to 5.9 volts. NOTE: Dip switch sequence 1 - 4 on SW2 may have to be changed in
order to obtain 5.9 volts.
Adjusting P4 will affect adjustment of P3. Repeat steps 16 through 18 until voltages stay in adjustment.
19.
Extend boom approximately 3 feet to put machine in creep speed mode.
20.
Mark the side of a tire at a point closest to the ground.
21.
Fully stroke the drive joystick in the forward position.
22.
Using the mark on the side of the tire, time how long it takes to make 1 revolution.
23.
Adjust P5 on the MDSD board to obtain 1 revolution in 28 seconds.
24.
Fully stroke the drive joystick in reverse.
25.
Using the mark on the side of the tire, time how long it takes to make 1 revolution.
26.
Adjust P6 on the MDSD board to obtain 1 revolution in 28 seconds.
27.
Mark off 50 feet in an open area.
28.
Retract boom fully to put machine in high speed mode.
29.
Time how long it takes to travel 50 feet. Machine should travel 50 feet in 9-1/2 to 10-1/2 seconds.
30.
Adjust P3 on MDSD board for forward to obtain 50 feet in 9-1/2 to 10-1/2 seconds.
31.
Adjust P4 on MDSD board for reverse to obtain 50 feet in 9-1/2 to 10-1/2 seconds.
32.
If adjustment on P3 or P4 require increasing output excessively, continue with step 33.
The following steps can be used in the event that the MDSD board is extremely out of adjustment or there
SJKB-40-D, SJKB-40-D/F
is not enough area to adjust using steps 19 through 32.
