Testing Wall Controls and Sensors
Provided that all lighting zone controllers have been on
for at least 100 hours, and the emergency contact
closure is present, the wall controls, occupant sensors,
and daylight sensors can be tested.
Test the Wall Controls
• Ensure the power to the lighting zone controller is ON.
• Use the wall control to turn ON the lighting load.
• For MW-V or RX-MIC-MW, lower, then raise the lights
with the intensity slider.
• If the lights do not turn ON and OFF, or do not dim,
double-check the wiring as described in Installing Wall
Controls.
Test the Occupant Sensor
• Ensure the power to the Lighting Zone Controller is ON.
• Check that the LED on the Occupant Sensor turns ON
when motion is detected. In addition, the lights should
turn ON when motion is detected (the LED is lit) and
turn off approximately 30 seconds later, provided the
timeout is set at minimum. The lights may or may not
turn off when signaled by the occupant sensor until the
system is commissioned.
Test the Daylight Sensor
• Ensure the power to the lighting zone controller is ON.
• Shine a flashlight directly onto the daylight sensor,
preferably aimed at the notch on the sensor. Keep the
flashlight ON for at least 30-40 seconds. This should
cause the lights to dim.
• If the lights do not dim, they may already be at a
dimmed level due to daylight. If so, you may test the
sensor by covering it for 30-40 seconds. This should
cause the lights to get brighter.
• If the lights do not dim or brighten, double check the
wiring as described in Installing Daylight Sensors.
Scheduling System Commissioning
The installation of your lighting zone controller(s) is complete. For Onsite Factory Commissioning, call
Lutron Technical Support and select the Startup option to schedule a field service visit. Allow for at least
10 working days between day of call and scheduled visit.

Installation Guide for Lighting Zone Controllers
Danger! Turning ON power to the lighting zone
controller will energize the lighting circuit. Turn
the power ON only after checking that it is safe
to do so.
