Usage
Both
Opens a network configuration file.
This command can be used to edit device parameters offline or
write stored parameters to a replacement Unit online.
Both
Saves the displayed network configuration (including each node's
device parameters) to a file.
This command can be used to save newly created or edited device
parameters offline or backup the settings of the actual devices in
the network online. Normally this command overwrites an existing
file, but the filename must be specified when saved for the first
time.
Both
The "Save as" command is the same as "Save," but the filename
specification window is always displayed.
Offline
Connects the Configurator to the CompoBus/D network in order to
transfer data to and from devices or monitor network operation.
Online
Removes the Configurator from the CompoBus/D network for
independent operation. This command can be used when it is
difficult to periodically monitor the status of the network or to edit
device parameters when it isn't possible to connect to the network.
Both
Registers Slaves for remote I/O communications with the Master
and allocates words to the Slaves (the settings related to remote
I/O communications are known as the scan list). Words can be
allocated freely. It is also possible to set whether remote I/O
communications start automatically when the Master starts up.
Both
The wizard command registers Slaves and allocates I/O words like
the "Create Master Parameters" command, but the procedure is
easier because the wizard guides the user through the steps. The
wizard automatically allocates I/O to Slaves in node-address order,
but the I/O allocation can be edited later with the "Edit Device
Parameters" command.
Both
Compares the Master parameters for two or more Masters in a
network configuration file and warns when the same area has been
allocated to more than one Slave for remote I/O. Always use this
command to check for duplications when more than one Master is
mounted in a single PC.
Both
When an EDS file is provided with another company's Slave, this
command installs the EDS file in the Configurator. Since the EDS
files have a standardized format, Slaves manufactured by other
vendors can be used without problems and the Slave's parameters
can be changed if necessary.
Both
When an EDS file isn't provided with another company's Slave, this
command can be used to create an EDS file and install it in the
Configurator. Remote I/O communications are possible without an
EDS file, but the device will be listed as "Unknown" in the device
list; Registering an EDS file provides a normal display for these
Slaves.
This command can only register the device information in the
Configurator itself. Use the "Device Parameters Setup" command
to transfer data to and from the actual device.
Both
Prints the device parameters of devices displayed in the device list.
Both
Exits from the Configurator. Information that hasn't been saved will
be lost when you exit from the Configurator. The Configurator must
be switched to offline operation before exiting.
