This mode is used to identify wires by touch. It is useful in assembly and troubleshooting. With
the wrist strap connected, the operator may touch the ends of the wires, and the display will
indicate the point or points touched. User Labels will be substituted for the point numbers if
loaded in the working memory.
Self Test
This mode is used to test the Model 256/PC. Basically it checks for opens and shorts on the
scanner transmit/receive lines (scanner boards). The error type (open or short) and the faulty
points are displayed. No test harness may be connected to the unit while in the Self Test mode.

DISPLAY

The Model 256/PC employs a 16-digit alphanumeric LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). The display
provides the user with mode, status, and From/To points. The From/To points refer to test point
numbers, which may be interpreted using the table below.
