MODEL 256/PC HARDWARE CHANGES

REMOTE OUTPUT SIGNALS

Two output signals are provided for controlling external devices through unused pins on the
printer/serial connector. The pins are connected to the CPU board where jumpers may be
installed to activate the signals. Refer to figure 14 for jumper locations. The output signals are:
Pass/Fail and End of Test and are brought out on pins 24 and 25 respectively. A jumper is also
provided for supplying +5vdc at pin 23. The pin assignment and the labels used on the CPU
board are as shown below:

Early Model 256 and Model 256/PC testers were originally setup as
shown under the Standard Jumper Setting. The Alternate Jumper
Setting, using W4 and W5 in lieu of W1 and W2, outputs the signals on
the same connector pins as the Model 512 jumper settings. Refer to
Figure 14 for jumper locations.
