PROBE LEARN
The probe learn function has been removed from the Model 256/PC. This was necessary in
order to add the PC interface and User Labels. Programs that were created with Probe Learn are
fully compatible and can be loaded directly into the Model 256/PC. The only difference is the
test point display format.
LOAD AND SAVE FUNCTIONS
Model 256
The Model 256 uses numbers to select the location when loading and saving programs.
Programs are loaded and saved by selecting a number from 1 through 14 for internal memory
and 1 through 16 for cartridge programs. The signature code is displayed after the program is
loaded or saved.
Model 256/PC
The Model 256/PC uses a signature code for selecting a program in lieu of a program location
number. The tester automatically select an available location in memory when a program is
saved and does not copy over existing programs. A delete program function has been added to
erase an existing program. Care must be taken with the delete program function if a program
cartridge is being used for both models. When a program is deleted, the remaining programs are
actually moved to optimize memory usage. Therefore, if a cartridge is inserted into the Model
256 after a program has been deleted by the Model 256/PC, the programs may be in different
program locations when selecting a program for loading.
