3.4 Generator Set Service Schedule

Note: Have maintenance work, including battery service, performed by appropriately skilled and suitably trained
maintenance personnel familiar with generator set operation and service.
Perform Service at Intervals Indicated (X)
Lubricating Oil System
Check the oil level
Change the oil
Clean the centrifugal oil cleaner
Change the oil filter(s)
Cooling System
Check the coolant level
Check the anticorrosion zinc anode(s)
Check the seawater outlet and clean as necessary
Check the function of the siphon break, if equipped
Check/replace the seawater pump impeller [
Check the coolant antifreeze and corrosion protection
Change the coolant and clean the cooling system
Fuel System
Check the fuel level
Drain the water separating prefilter
Change the fuel filters
Exhaust System
Inspect the exhaust system components [
Check the exhaust gas condition. If the exhaust is blue or black,
contact your local distributor/dealer
Clean the exhaust/water mixing elbow [
Inspect the complete exhaust system w
Engine and Mounting
Check for water, fuel, coolant, and oil leakage, rectify as necessary []
Check the drive belt ]
Check/adjust valve clearances and unit injectors w
Change the reductant filters w
Check the mounting bolts/vibromounts and tighten if necessary

Consult your local distributor/dealer for service
