system depends primarily on the installation. Use this
manual as a guide to install the mobile generator set. For
operating instructions, refer to the operation manual
TP-6582.
1.1 Installation Standards
Heavy duty truck generator set installations must comply
with the Kohler detailed installation instructions following.

1.2 Generator Set Specifications
Refer to the model's specification sheet G3-48 for details.
Use this specification sheet and this manual as a guide in
planning your installation.

1.3 Generator Set Operation
To ensure the generator set is operational after
installation always:

Check that the generator set is secured to the truck's
frame, free of obstructions.
D
Add oil to crankcase until dipstick indicates full.
D
Check for secured fuel lines (inlet and return).
D
Connect remote in-cab keypad/display.
D
Connect load leads.
D
Check that the exhaust outlet is directed out and away
from the truck's fairings and chassis, including the
sleeper cab.
D
Check for secured harness connections.
D
Connect battery terminals.
